Hey, I didn't see a thread for this so thought I'd start one. I wish I was starting it now as I'm eager to get going but I'm starting DD101 in Jan since it's the first one I can do. I'd like to get to know some people on here also starting, or even if you've started in October and want to keep in touch with people. I'm aiming for a psychology degree, I've always had an interest in the subject but not studied it before. I was going to study maths which I'm more used to so this is a big change!
Starting DD101 in Jan aswell. Trying to find my way around the OU website and took part in the library tutorial. Want to start now and get on with the course. I am hoping to get a psychology degree at the end, but as it is a long time since I've done any studying I will take it module by module.

Don't worry there are thousands in the same boat coming back to study after a long break - hope you enjoy it and my tip is to chat to those in your tutor groups in the forums it should help.

I have just ending Y183 and starting DD101 in January as well. Just looked on the module webpage and the books are due to be posted out tomorrow. Looking forward to finding out more about what we will be covering.
I hope to reach the degree at the end then go onto CBT. Fingers crossed!

I'm starting DD101 in Jan as well and looking forward to getting stuck in. Ultimately I hope to gain a BSc Psychology Degree. Just wanted to let you know there's a good facebook group called Open University DD101 2012 for anyone who wants to join.
I thought it would be great to join this community so I could keep an eye on the bigger picture rather than focus on my current module alone.

I am also doing the DD101 starting 28th January. I've received my books for the module and I am slightly daunted because of the size of the books but it has been a long time since I have gone into further education! I hope to get a degree in Pscychology by the end of it to further my career. It is nice to meet you all and look forward to chatting with you.

Yes, a huge box of books DVD's and info, I was surprised when they arrived!
I found the openings course useful as I hadn't done anything on this scale before. I guess you already in a similar career, what do you do?

Ha no unfortunately, I am a call centre operator working for a Motor Breakdown company, but that can sometimes be like a councelling service with the stressed members who's cars have broken down!
I am so nervous about actually starting it, because I have never committed to something like this before. I really want to broaden my horizons and focus more on my career, I have spent too long in dead end jobs that aren't challenging enough for me.

I was hoping to find something like this, as im a new-bee to open university, it helps alot so that i can communicate with others on DD101 aswell!.. Its all a little daunting, just sent my first TMA off which i did struggle with, i havent been to any tutorials as of yet as im busy over the weekends, but it would be nice to get to know people on here, just because im one of those people who need someone to speak about when working on assignments so it gets through my head lol, it would be great to speak to you all!

How are you finding it so far? I am very nervous as like you I am a complete newbee to the OU. It would be great to hear how you're getting on.
