Well I've bitten the bullet and enrolled on my course  Really excited by it all and can't wait to get started! I am wondering if I am slightly mad trying to study for a degree in our house but I really need to do something for me now and this is it. I left school 13 years ago and not done any studying since so this is going to be one big wake up call for me. I'm determined I will succeed though and will definitely give it my best shot. Would love to talk to people who will be doing the same course x

I've just turned 40 with 5 children ages 5 to 18 and I really do think it's going to be very challenging and extremely fun!!

Hi, I'm starting my Psychology degree in October, left school 24 years ago, have 2 kids (6 and 17) and work full time, I think most people have their hands full, so don't worry, you are certainly not alone!

Hi, I'm also a mum and working full time and starting this course in October, not studied in over 10 years, also looking forward to it :) , I wonder if we will have a big book list?

I too am a mum of three, aged 27, 25 and 9 and am now 'over the hill' as my kids say - I am also returning to OU study after a break of about 20 years!  I am doing the same degree as you but this year will be doing the W100 instead of the other level 1 course.  You've done the hard bit and enrolled so now just sit back and wait for the books to arrive, take a deep breath while you go through everything and then enjoy the course when it starts.  You are never alone as there are always other students facing similar issues as you that you can go to for advice, as well as the OU.

It is great to read on here that there is lots of other women in the same boat - I too have just enrolled, I have 2 kids aged 9 and 13 - teen years - lovely! lol. I completed Psychology and Sociology 'A' level 3 years ago as a mature student - did better than I expected and feel ready now for the challenge of a degree!! Exciting times ahead - Good Luck to us all x
