Hi all, I'm starting Y183 this week too. I have had a look through the book and started taking some notes. Decided to leave it alone for a couple of days and just chill! I haven't studied in 27 years and I am a bit nervous about writing essays after all this time. Looking forward to starting properly. Wishing everyone the best of luck.

Hey guys, My names Claire,
I'm starting this course too on 1 march, brand new user to OU. Haven't studied psychology before either, since I got the material through the post I have left it alone as I am a full time mum so my kids need constant attention. Glad to see there are other users that are new too and I hope we can all become friends :)

Welcome Claire, I think you have done the best thing by leaving your books alone just now, when you talk with your tutor he/she will get you moving in the right direction.I had a read at the book and just panicked! I should have left it alone until i had some help! Best of luck, talk soon

If you go into "GROUPS" at the top of this page, go down to psychology there is a group for all starting Y183 in March. The manager is John McNeill and there is already 12 members, look forward to seeing you all in there.
