Hi,

I'm Peter and I'm studying S104 starting tomorrow!

I'm new to OU and haven't studied anything for 20 years so I hope my brain isn't too addled from inactivity to cope.

Hello, I'm Emma and about to start the AA100 course Arts Past and Present. I'm excited and nervous and have looked at the course material, the course looks very good. Also, have my first tutorial in February, will hopefully meet a few other people in the same position.

Hi, i'm Suzanne. I'm starting K311 Promoting Public Health on Feb 6th.... nervous as hell by the size of the text books as on my degree i'm sure i didn't need so many resources for just one module. Still, going to give it a try!

Is anyone else studying this module? Please get in touch as i need your support x

Hi all, I'm brand new to OU study and haven't done any study since my GCSE's almost 12 years ago <eek>.  It's so nice to see so many people doing similar to me: I'm about to start Y180: Making sense of the arts and if I enjoy it I'm hoping to go on to do a degree in History starting off with the AA100 unit.

Very nervous but excited too! <waves>

Hiya!

My name is Sarah and I am 37and starting  my dd131 and b120 in May! A bit daunted but think it is a long time coming that I get my head into some studying. I am a mum to 3 boys aged 10, 8 and 5 and live on the Wirral. I would love to hear from anyone who has done or is about to do any of these courses ( and anyone else too!)  Still trying to find my way around the site and wondering where the cafe is that people have spoken about !

bye for now !

Sarah

Sarah Wilkinson - Sun, 18/09/2011 - 23:12

Hello Everyone,  Im studying DD101 shortly and was wondering if there are any other new starters who would like to get in touch.  I'm new to open uni study.  My aim is to complete Dip HE in combined social sciences.  Cheers Sarah

Laura Hathaway - Sat, 24/09/2011 - 15:09

Hi all.

My name is Laura (: I'm 19 years old and I live in Cardiff, Wales.

I'm studying BU130 Working and learning: developing effective performance at work and DSE141: Discovering Psychology - studying two!

At the moment I don't really know what I want to do. I'd like a degree in Business and Management and Psychology but can't decide which one to do first, so I thought I'd do a module from each!

I 've never wanted to go to uni as the thought of moving just doesn't appeal to me, so giving this one a go! Wish me luck!

Good luck everyone! xx

I'm starting DD101 in Jan too, it seems to be popular I'm seeing it mentioned everywhere!

I'm new to OU but I've been attempting study on and off for the last 10 years, am 31 now.  The routes I was going weren't working out so I'm trying this so I can concentrate on the studying and not have to stress about other things.

Would love to have some study buddies for support and chats throughout the course.

Hi, I'm Rachel and I start Understanding the Arts next month, it all seems a bit intimidating at the moment but I'm also really excited - the motivation is to get an English Lit degree and then do my teacher training afterwards.  I have two boys who are 3 and 4 so am slightly worried about the time management side of things.
