Hi, I have just joined the OU to study Pyschology. I am starting with Health Sciences and Discovering Pyschology in October, and am feeling daunted but excited. I work in a secondary school as a Learning Support Assistant and have dropped ten hours so I can do this. I am sure I am doing the right thing, but still...! Can't wait to know all that stuff, though.

Richard Randall - Thu, 30/08/2012 - 15:15
Hello everybody, Im Richard and I'm 23 years old and have decided to get my head down and back into studying. I've enrolled for business studies with spanish pathways and not entirely sure what to expect with this OU course. I am starting my first module L1940 portales: beginners spanish in october and my second module B120: An introduction to business studies in april
I'm also thinking of starting the L140 en rumbo: intermediate spanish in february...I'm looking on a bit of advice weather to start this module in feb or wait until oct 2013 as i'm unsure what the work load is going to be like with the OU
Any replies would be great even if it's just to introduce yourself
thanks guys,
Rich

Hi Everyone
I'm Zoe.. This is my first time studying with the OU and will be starting with module K101 for Health and Social Care in Oct. I haven't studied for 10 years, so slightly nervous. Im currently a stay at home mum and although i run a business with my husband, i haven't been involved in the day to day running since having my 2 year old. I'm hoping my mummy brain hasn't gone too numb!
Looking forward to making new friends.
Moira Dean - Tue, 11/09/2012 - 20:39
Hi Everyone, I'm Moira 44 year old mum of three grown up lads. Starting DD101 in the next few weeks and cannot wait to get started! mainly a sales career cut short by illness five years ago when I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Five years in the mental health system has shown me what works and what doesn't work for me, has become a growing interest in my life and would like to be able to help others in my situation deal with this illness, so I've joined the group of mature students (though my friends might say Im an immature student..). good luck to everyone.
Sarah George - Tue, 11/09/2012 - 22:23
Hi everyone,
I am Sarah and I am about to start DD131 this October. This is my first time with the OU and am still finding my way around cyberspace! I am married with two teenage kids and work (almost) full time with dyslexics, screening and teaching. I love the screening/assessing side of the work and would like to be an Educational Psychologist. This is going to take me years to achieve so I am going to require lots of stickability!
I am really enjoying finding my way around the OU site before starting the course and I am so glad the forums are available for a bit of support when needed. I am really daunted by all the lifestyle juggling I will probably need to do once the study is up and running but I am so encouraged by reading that there are lots of OU mums out there who have managed to run a family, work and study. If they can do it - then so can I!
Becki Barnett - Thu, 20/09/2012 - 20:50
Hi Sarah
I am starting the same module in October and it has been some years since I last studied so just trying to get into the swing of things. Like you I have children but 3 of them 14, 5 & 4! I'm really looking forward to starting and hoping that I havent bitten off more that I can chew taking the intensive pathway!
Good luck
Becki

Rab Sutherland - Fri, 21/09/2012 - 10:38
Hello out there,
My names Robert but I'm known in Scotland as RAB (not C Nesbit). I am due to start the courses DD131 and DSE 141 in October and have since recieved my work packs. I see my first TMA 01 has to be submitted by 12th November, but prior to that there is another Dummy TMA00 which we can complete and forward to our tutors, this will enable our tutors to look over our work, tell us where we must work harder, and our weakness's, then return it with our mark.
My problem is that I cannot find this elusive TMA00, can anyone out there help me.
Thanks in advance
Rab
