Hi everyone - I am currently studying on the new AA100 course and finding it extremely interesting. As a 'very' mature student it is quite a challenge but I keep telling myself I can do it!
I also enjoy working in Textiles and have exhibited my work frequently during the past 20 years. However I am finding it increasingly tiring so thought sitting studying at the PC would be less energetic! At least it is getting my brain cells working............
Hi Everyone. Bernard Nkuyubwatsi from Rwanda. I started studying with the OU in February with H804. I got results and passed the course. I am now taking H808. Hard experience really when considering circumstances but lovely. I am thirty one, single and no child. I work for Kigali Health Institute as The Deputy Director of the institution's Language Centre. We are now struggling to make our students and teacher to enable them to use English language since this has been recently declared the only language of instruction in our country starting from 2010 (2009 in our institution).
Looking forward to exchanging more

Hi all, I am Andrea, have three children, married. Have been doing the OU for 4 years now, when will it ever end..... only joking, I really enjoy the community spirit of the OU and particularly enjoyed the Italian first year that I just completed. I have completed my diploma in English Language studies, which I found hard, but passed anyway. Have just completed Italian and French and will move on to finish my degree with honours in Modern Language sometime in my life!!
I got here through clicking on the platform link on my homepage and read the exam boo, boo's that some peaople have made, I really laughed and surely that's not normal at this time in the morning! But I shouldn't laugh at other people's misfortune should I?? I dropped one like that myself once.. many years ago of course.... my English teacher asked the class what a bracket was for and I said 'to put up shelves'.... duhh....
must go and do some household chores, ciao for now

Will be 6 years before getting the law degree but not going to rush it and can then decide where I want to take it plus 4 kids under 7 wouldn't allow me to anyway.
Course starts in Feb and have just received my initial start books which was a tad frightening as I haven't studied for 18 years but am really looking forward to it.

My name is Mike, retired since 1992, and I live in 'sunny' Suffolk.I am married and have children and numerous grandchildren.I obtained a degree in Humanities in 1994,followed by a PGC in 1999, also in Humanities.
I resumed studies with other university online courses, but I have returned to the OU to try my hand at some soft science short courses.Passed two so far, looking forward to Darwin next year. There are some other attractive courses that I would like to do.It will take a long time to build up the necessary number of modules for a second degree this way!
I am the sort of learner that the government is not interested in ,but which I do hope the OU will continue to cater for.

My name is Stefan, mostly referred to as Stef. I am 31 years old and live in Bournemouth. I came from Switzerland to England in August 2003 and am hoping to stay here until earliest 2010. I simply needed a break from Switzerland and decided to come to England to wider my horizon and do something for my development. As far as my expectation’s go, I have more than succeeded my initial goals. The OU made me pitch my aims higher and higher and now I am aiming for an MBA. As from today I am one step closer, I just received my pass for B820, Strategy.

I'm currently studying for a a OU degree, I've just finished classical studies, I'm now studying creative writing. Has anyone else got quite a few emails from the OU in there in box? I seem to get loads, the minute I finish a course or something I get another email. I don't remember agreeing to all these emails. Can anyone tell me how I can stop them? I know what course to do next and don't new need the OU touting for new business.
Agree or disagree? Post a comment and let me know. Also how do the points for degrees work? So far I've got two certificates and now a diploma and will still have enough points for my degree. I just don't understand? I suppose we are all different it must depend on how many course a student has done. How do with know what grade of degree we will get? How is this marked? Any idea?
Let me know,
Cheers now

Hi,
I have just completed my fourth OU course and about to embark on my first level 3 course. I am working towards a degree in Social Sciences(BA Hons)-this enables me to combine Sociology with courses in English language & literature too. I am really enjoying studying with the OU and some how manage to fit it in with part time work, finding time to spend with my husband, parenting ,being a school governor, learning to kitesurf etc etc...I have to admit I find the assignments in the Summer holidays hard going as my brain seems to go to mush when the kids are at home, the sun is shining and as we live on the North Norfolk coast the sea is calling!!! I am looking forward to starting my studies again & meeting my tutor & fellow students on 'The Art of English' course.
