I thought i'd create a space (although i'm not sure if i've done it right as im hopeless at this kind of thing) for everyone to tell other members a bit about themselves. You can be as open  & sharing or as silent and minimal as you wish, but thought it might help us to get to know each other a bit more, to find out whose who!!!

Details you might want to include (or not) could be...

- BASIC INFO: name, age, where you live etc.

- FAMILY LIFE: marital status, if you have any children, pets, work life, home life

- OTHER 'STUFF': interests & hobbies, likes & dislikes.

- OU LIFE: the course/module you are studying/hope to study, what you hope to do after you finish the course, why you chose the course/OU.

just a few ideas, like I said previoulsy, be as open and sharing or as closed or basic as you like.

I'll go first ....... (see following comment)

Hi, im the admin (not sure thats an appropriate title as it give the impression i know what im doing, but anyway...) I'm also known as Samantha (Sam) and i'm 26yrs old and live in Prestatyn, North Wales. Im Married (1yr in Feb 12) to John, we've been together since 2006. He's so wonderful, esp when im having my bad days with my fibro. I was diagnosed about 18mths ago, but have been suffering for about 3halfyrs. At the moment I am a full time mum and (try my best to be) a 'houswife', when my fibro permits - otherwise its up to John, who despite returning to education and doing a FT college sports & fitness course never complains. I am eternally grateful to him for everything he does for me.

We have 2 wonderful gorgeous children Thomas 5 who has just started FT school this sept just gone and is doing fantastically - im such a proud mummy! and Emma who is 3yrs old, my diva princess!!! she is in half day nursery, but will be doing some full days when i start my course.

Im studying towards Childhood & Youth studies degree, but my first module id K101 - an introduction to health & social science. I have chosen to study with the OU as I had to cancel my place in the local college that i was supposed to start in september as i was having a major fibro flare up, and didnt move off the sofa for almost 3weeks for not being able to move. So what better way to ensure i'm stll here for my children (without having to send the to breakfast & afterschool clubs) and getting qualifications without having to worry about missing lectures at college than studying from home!!! I was studying to be a teacher and fell prtegnant during my 2nd yr of the degree but went back to complete, but Thomas ended up being quite poorly so i gave up in the end as my focus was more on him than on my course. After having Thomas i quite liked the idea of midwifery, but after having the fibro i know there is no way id manage such a physically demanding career, so thought health & social science would be a nice blend of health & education!!! (I hope im right!!)
