Hi guys,

I was just wondering whether any of the group's members live in the South West of England? It would be great to meet people and make local friends!

Hi Amy, nice to meet you :o)

I'm based in Dorchester, Dorset, a lovely area and right on the Jurassic Coast so great for explorations! How are you finding working witht the OU?

hi, i've recently finished my first course. i enjoyed it and i'll be looking at what i want to do next soon.

i've been to dorchester a lot because my boyfriend lives near there, it is a nice area.

what are you studying? i just did a short course human genetics and health issues and i'll be looking at doing more science.

Hi Amy,

Have you decided what your next steps with the OU will be? Sounds like you're an avid biologist! Do you want to go into medical care or something similar once you get your qualifications?

I love Dorchester, it's such a nice town and is really close to the jurassic coast which is beautiful!

I started the OU with AA100 (Arts Past and Present) last year, which finished in May. In February this year I began DD101 which is interesting, but I'm quite looking forward to focusing on RE and Philosophy by the time I start my Level 2 courses. Despite exams being involved, hopefully it will be a lot more focused on the area of study I want to get my degree in!

hello, i'm doing the short course empire of the microbes now. in feburary i'm planning on doing scientific investigations which is also 10 credits and hopefully next october my health will be good enough to do exploring science which is 60 credits. sometimes i think i will get on fine with it then other times i think it's too much to expect. in the end i would like to put all my courses towards a natural sciences degree and study the biology and health sciences route towards it.

i expect you're starting your level 2 courses, hope they go well. i'm not looking forward to having to take exams past level 1. at the moment i struggle with the writing side of the assesments, i dread to think of the writing needed for arts and humanties courses.

i don't fancy medical care much, i think i'd rather do something based in a lab. i don't know what i'd like to work as. what are you hoping to do when you've got your degree?

(Reviving an old forum)

Hello Hayley and Amy,

Good to see some that there are some young ou students in the same area. Personally i'm from Sherborne, Dorset, and studying towards a Physics degree. I'm currently in the middle of two level-2 courses, some very interesting and hard stuff but its going very well. Hope you guys and anyone else is doing good.

Liam
