The group has contributed to major externally-funded projects, including: Making Britain: South Asian Visions of Home and Abroad, 1870–1950, and City Fictions of the New India: Literature, Infrastructure, Citizenship.

Editorial connections include the Journal of Commonwealth Literature, and Wasafiri. The group co-hosts the British Chinese Studies Network (with the University of Liverpool), convening online events on British Chinese literature and culture. Alex Tickell curated a major British Library exhibition (2022-3) celebrating British Chinese culture and community. David Johnson edits the 'Key Texts in Anti-Colonial Thought' series for Edinburgh University Press.

Group members organise conferences and workshops in Milton Keynes and the Institute of English Studies, London. We welcome applications corresponding to staff research interests.

Minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent). If you are not a UK citizen, you may need to prove your knowledge of English
