Regional Analysis Innovation Knowledge and Entrepreneurship Research Exchange

There are a number of trends in the world economy and business that coalesce around regional analysis (at supra- and sub- national levels), knowledge; innovation; and entrepreneurship. In the advanced and emerging economies, innovation and entrepreneurship has become central to the discourse and practice of economics, business and management development. There is, however, a territorial dimension to these developments that is more complex than the usual global explanations.
The Regional Analysis Innovation and Knowledge and Entrepreneurship Research Exchange (RAIKE) at the Open University Business School brings together these apparently discrete communities of theory, practice and policy and creates the building blocks for a intellectually coherent and multi-disciplinary research exchange. It constitutes a major initiative in the Regional Transformation and Development stream of the Open University’s Centre for Innovation, Knowledge and Development (IKD) with close links to its Asian Drivers programme. RAIKE also interacts with leading international external bodies in the field
The aims and objectives of RAIKE are;
- Establish an internationally recognised forum for pursuing scholarship of regional analysis, innovation and entrepreneurship;
- Establish formal and informal relationships with the leading bodies in a multi-disciplinary area;
- Build research capacity through the development of internal and external collaborations;
- Establish an on-line discussion forum with potential partners and stakeholders;
- Produce regular reports and relevant publications for internal and external dissemination;
- Hold joint events including short conferences, seminars and on-line and digital fora.
RAIKE is in the forefront of analysing and disseminating developments in the economic governance, innovation and knowledge, and entrepreneurship at different territorial scales that go beyond the simple metaphor of globalisation.
It is an open research exchange, If you want to join please contact Dr Leslie Budd at OUBS-PuLSE-RU@open.ac.uk.
