We have a range of payment options to meet your individual needs and to help you meet your study goals – whether you’re studying a single module or working towards a qualification.
Studying with The Open University is much more affordable and straightforward than you might think. Options include paying in instalments as you go (through an Open University student budget account), employer sponsorship, and paying upfront with a debit or credit card.
Tax relief applies to full-time and part-time undergraduate students who are paying a tuition fee. For full information on conditions for tax relief and to obtain a claim form please contact the Revenue Commissioners.
Visit our main Fees and Funding page for more information about paying for OU study.
Fees are paid on a module-by-module basis. If you’re studying for a qualification, you won't have to pay the whole cost upfront.
In Ireland, a 60-credit module costs £3012 (£1506 for 30 credits).* The number of credits in a qualification ranges from 120 for a certificate, to 360 for an honours degree. Most part-time students study 60 credits a year.
The Open University does not charge an annual student contribution or registration fee.
