Open University English researchers will headline a 2-day conference, ‘The Reader in the Book: Books, Reading and Libraries in Fiction’, at the Institute of English Studies, Senate House London, on 19-20 March 2020.

Dr Shafquat Towheed, Director of the Open University’s History of Books and Reading (HOBAR) research collaboration is one of the plenary speakers, while his colleague Dr Edmund King will be chairing a specially convened panel. Members of The Open University’s collaborative READ-IT project will also be running a half-day workshop at the event.
