Our mission is to assist in the commercialisation of research ideas created by scientists, engineers, postgraduate students and other innovators at the Open University.

We help inventors to articulate the business case for a particular technology transfer initiative, and assist in the formulation of a Business Planning Guide for specific projects and pursue third stream activities such as collaboration and enterprise ventures, technology and knowledge transfer and collaborative research and income generation

We provide support to Open University researchers by:

• The review and assessment of research bids for possible intellectual property and commercialisation opportunities or problems
• Encouraging the generation of new knowledge by Faculty, staff, and students
• Protecting the University and researcher’s interests
• The preparation of collaboration agreements, confidentiality agreements and material transfer agreements
• Contract preparation, review and negotiation
