Dr Tendayi Bloom, Lecturer in Politics & International Studies, will be representing The Open University as a 'Pop-up Professor' at an event on Thursday 29 March organised by the Migration Museum in London. Special evening events are held on the final Thursday in every month at the Museum until 9pm, with this one offering later visitors an opportunity to view their 'No Turning Back: Seven Migration Moments that Changed Britain' exhibition, as featured on BBC World Service, Newsweek, Huffington Post and CNN.

The EU referendum result and ongoing Brexit negotiations have sparked debate about Britain’s relationship with the world and uncertainty about migration to and from Britain. But Brexit is far from the first pivotal migration moment in Britain’s migration history. This exhibition explores seven such turning points. Some brought people together, others moved people apart; all had a profound effect on individuals who lived through them – and on the country as a whole. Each moment is explored thematically through a combination of art, photography and personal stories.

Tendayi will be on standby to explore any key questions or ideas the exhibition may raise.
