As Regional Education Manager in R06 based in Cambridge I am responsible for overseeing the local delivery of the Pre-registration nursing programme. I also support, advise and manage Module Tutors/Associate lecturers and Programme/Practice tutors on the nursing programme and health and social care modules.
I started my nursing career at the Hammersmith Hospital in London, after qualifying as a midwife I travelled and worked as a nurse in Toronto, Canada. On returning to the UK I worked as a midwife in hospital and the community. I was privileged to attend home births.
In more recent years I moved from general nursing practice into education, as a teacher/lecturer via access to health studies courses, Foundation Degrees and health and social care courses.
I have been an Associate Lecturer with the OU since 2008 (K100, K101, K303, K217).
