I am visiting The Open University from June 2019 to March 2020 to work on research projects with the Agile Research Network. My usual residence is New Zealand where I teach, research, coordinate, and supervise within the School of Information Technology of Whitireia Polytechnic.
My research concerns information systems development and the impact of agile software development on projects, teams, and organisations. Another of my research interests is how different systems development approaches affect project coordination.
My research contributes theoretical and practical knowledge to information systems development, IT project management, and software engineering. I publish in journals such as The Journal of Systems and Software, Frontiers of Information Systems, and the Journal of Information Technology Theory and Application.
I was a track chair at the Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS) 2015 to 2018 with a track on IT Project Management. I review for journals such as The Journal of Systems and Software, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, the Information Systems Journal, Information and Software Technology, and the Journal of the Association of Information Systems. I have presented and reviewed for international information systems conferences such as HICSS, ICIS, ACIS, PACIS, and ECIS. In 2018, I was a panel member for the New Zealand PBRF research evaluation exercise on the Mathematics, Information Science, and Technology panel (similar to the UK Research Excellence Framework).
