Professional biography

I am a postgraduate student of Astrochemistry at the Open University (since October 2014).

Before this, I graduated with a Master's degree in Natural Sciences (Astrophysics and Physical Chemistry) from University College London (2010-14).

Research interests

My PhD project regards the chemical composition and evolution of circumstellar dust, and the gaseous content of planetary nebulae.

Dust is an important constituent of the ISM, as it is responsible for such phenomena as the formation of stars, and reprocessing ultraviolet (UV) light emitted from stars to infrared (IR) and sub-mm light.

In particular, I am looking at regions where there are low amounts of metals (i.e. elements heavier than helium) in order to determine how dust evolves as a function of metallicity.
