Profile summary

Professional biography

James is an observational astronomer involved in the search for planets around stars beyond the Solar System. He is looking for extreme, short-period exoplanets that are losing mass due to proximity to their host stars. James observes with some of the world's most advanced telescopes and instruments, including HARPS in La Silla, Chile, the South African Large Telescope, and SOPHIE at OHP, France. He employs sophisticated data analysis and statistical techniques to find planetary signals.
