Professional biography

I am a module team member of undergraduate Business and Management module teams and Chair of Managing in the workplace (B121) and the legacy module, Understanding business functions (B202). I have written module material for Understanding management (Y159), an Openings course and Making it happen! Leadership, influence and change (B204). I am the Open University Business School Employer Engagement champion and RAF Liaison Officer.

Until recently I had responsibility primarily for our Professional Certificate in Management and until 2006, our Professional Diploma in Management. I was also responsible for our full suite of undergraduate BA Business Studies compulsory modules in the Southern half of England. I act four times a year as the Course Director for our Professional Certificate in Management residential schools.

I have worked with the Open University Validation Services for the last 9 years as a facilitator and a member of numerous validation panels, mostly dealing with the validation of Foundation Degrees but also Honours Degrees and MBAs.

Research interests

Information technology and distribution in tourism and hospitality, special interest tourism (canal tourism, dark tourism, church tourism) and small firms in tourism and hospitality.
