Please see my blog for details of my research interests, teaching and employment history.
My PhD is (presently) entitled, 'Exhibiting Pain: Interpretations of creative representations of persistent pain'.
I am exploring the interpretations of people's pain as represented in art, poetry, music, etc. I am trialing an innovative method involving exhibitions hosted on social media platforms as a way to share the works and generate discussion by audience members.
My broader research interests are in the understanding, communication and management of persistent physical pain. Also, in arts health research and identity, as linked to illness.
I have been an Associate Lecturer with The Open University since April 2010, tutoring on health & social care modules as well as social sciences.
