I am the Course Team Chair of L120 Ouverture French Intermediate 3rd edition. My work is largely located within the Certificate award which comprises Beginners and Intermediate courses.
My past experience includes teaching French language at all levels in various HE institutions as well as leading language courses, including Language provision on Access/Foundation programmes.
I joined the OU in 2002 initially to be part of the course team working on the production of L192 Bon Départ (Beginners French). When the course first presented in 2003, I applied to teach on it. Being an associate lecturer for 5 years gave me a valuable tutor's experience and provided very useful insights in our students'experience.
In 2006, I became Course Team Chair of the remake of L120 Ouverture 3rd edition presenting for the first time in February 2009. This course makes extensive use of sophisticated technology, such as DVD-ROMs and VLE tools including Elluminate.
Since I became involved in the elaboration of Lyceum tutorials for LZX 192 Bon Départ (Beginners French) in 2003, I have developed a keen interest in using new technologies for teaching. I am an Elluminate Champion and have led or participated in numerous demonstrations or training sessions both inside and outside the Faculty. I am also interested in the potential offered by mobile technologies in relation to language learning but most particularly listening and speaking skills. For the past 12 months, I have been leading a mobile project on L120 on which work is ongoing.
This year I am also involved in the remake of L192 French Beginners and I am particularly interested in exploring various ways of revamping our assessment strategy and modus operandi in line with OU strategic objectives and technological developments.
