Professional biography

Victoria (Vic) Nicholas is a Staff Tutor in the Department of Environment, Earth and Ecosystems. She line manages Associate Lecturers in region 09 (North Region, Gateshead) and region 02 (South Region, Oxford).

She was awarded her PhD from Nottingham Trent University and carried out post doctoral research at Harper Adams University. 

Research interests

Previous research was in the area of Plant Biochemistry, particularly focussed on post harvest degradation of root crops.  She is currently running an eSTEeM funded research project on Student Perceptions of online Practical Science and has just completed a book chapter for "Mobile Learning in STEM". 

Teaching interests

Vic is on the module team of S396 Ecosystems and has a staff tutor role on S309 Earth Processes (in preparation).  She is a Fellow of the Higher Educational Academy.  Vic has been an Associate Lecturer with the OU for 9 years and has tutored on six different modules for the Science Faculty.  She is currently an Associate Lecturer for S104 Exploring Science.
