Professional biography

I am An Nguyen, a final-year doctoral researcher at the Faculty of Wellbeing, Education, and Language Studies at the Open University UK.

I hold an MA in Education (with Distinction) at the UCL Institute of Education and a BSc in International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). I have extensive work experience with corporations, NGOs, ed-tech, and universities in India, China, Vietnam, and the UK. I am a trilingual researcher in Vietnamese, English and Mandarin Chinese (with conversational proficiency in Spanish and Arabic).

Research interests

My research interests focus on higher education in Asia, sociology of English-mediated education, and integrating content and language in higher education. 

My focused research methods: quantitative (online survey, learning analytics, statistical analyses), qualitative (observations, interviews, focus groups, document review, policy analysis, systematic literature review), computer-assisted techniques (text-mining, topic modelling, sentiment analysis, social network analysis).
