The Research School is the Open University’s central office providing help and advice to academic staff on research funding, contract and ethical issues. The Research School was formed in 2006 from the amalgamation of the Research & Staff Office and the Research Degrees Office and is headed by the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise).
The School has five primary areas of responsibility:
- Research Grants & Contracts
- Innovation & Enterprise activities including research contract review and negotiation
- Research Strategy, Information and Governance
- Research Career Development
- Research Degrees
