Research Strategy, Information and Governance

This sub-unit of the Research School has primary responsibility for the following areas of activity

• Development, implementation and monitoring of the institutional Research Strategy
•  Research governance

• Research policy, including:
  
  • Code of Practice for Research and Those Conducting Research
  • Ethics Principles for Research Involving Human Participants

• Coordination of institutional responses to research and enterprise related external consultations exercises

• Management of the allocation and evaluation of institutional strategic research investment.
  

The Research Strategy, Information and Governance sub-unit also incorporates the Research Information and Communications Team, with primary responsibility for:

• Management and reporting of research-related management information

• Development and dissemination of institutional research publications and other communications

• Coordination of institutional submissions to national research assessment exercises (e.g. RAE 2008, REF 2014)

• Research-related statutory returns.
