This site is designed to support all those researching and teaching in the area of academic writing and who draw, or would like to draw, on the tools of Systemic Functional Linguistics. As you will see we are trying to build up a map of all the different areas of academic discourse research and related pedagogic work that people have been involved in to date. To do this we are asking researchers to send in their profiles to Caroline Coffin or Jim Donohue (emails below) along the lines of those already available on this site (i.e. areas of interest, publications, projects etc.).

We have also begun to build a bibliography of SFL related work in this area and would be very grateful if people could suggest other references. The website is designed to be a useful resource so please use the email addresses below to let us know of any ideas you might have as to how to improve it.
