Mary has identified four specific questions which could form the basis for her search.

Is there research evidence on the environmental impact of GM crops?
Is there research evidence on any health effects of eating GM foods?
What are the latest official statements from UK government/US government about GM crops?
What statistics are available about the number of trials taking place in the UK?

Eventually she may choose to focus on one or two only but for now she is ready to begin planning her search. In section 3 we will look at the process of translating questions into a search strategy and begin to identify appropriate sources for her to use.
