This section will help you to know where to find information, and who may be able to help you. Understanding what information you will find where, will save you time.
Where to find different information sources
So far in this section we have looked at how information can be categorised into different types. Below you will be shown information sources of different types and asked to decide where they are most likely to be found.
As you will be aware from your own experience, as well as from this activity, different types of information are found in different places. These places are usually those referred to as ‘disseminators’ or ‘facilitators’ in the ‘Information supply chain’ model (see topic three in this section). Next we describe some of the individual disseminators/facilitators in more detail.
