Palaeoenvironmental Change Research

OU based PhD students 2012

Welcome to the pages of the Palaeoenvironmental Change Research group. Our work explores the nature of vegetation, human and climate interactions mainly during the Quaternary (last c. 2.6 million years).

We use a wide range of techniques to address questions such as: what was the role of people in shaping the modern landscape, or how is past vegetation change recorded in the sedimentary record? It is hoped that the information generated can be used to inform conservation and development policy.

Thanks

William Gosling
