Psychologists at The Open University based in the Psychology Department, the Neuropsychology Group and in the Centre for Childhood, Development and Learning are often in need of volunteers to participate in research. Our research projects are vetted by the Open University's Human Participants and Materials Ethics Committee.
The Virtual Participant Panel (VPP) provides information about these opportunities and includes a link to the Virtual Participant Panel online registration form for signing up as a volunteer. If you sign up you may receive emails asking whether you would like to participate in specific projects. We will only contact you as often as you tell us we may. Some of our research is conducted on-line, and some is done through postal surveys, and you can take part in these wherever you are located. If you live in or near Milton Keynes, UK, you may also be able to participate in experiments conducted at the Open University campus itself. Projects can sometimes include small payments to cover participants' expenses.
The experiments are interesting, and many are fun to do, and participants are always given information about the purpose of the research and the results that are found. If you would like to volunteer, please fill in and submit the online registration form and we will contact you when we need participants. The experiments listed below will give you an idea of what we are doing, and if you sign up as a volunteer you may be invited to participate in one or more of those projects or others that are added in the future.
