The Department of Life Sciences investigates the properties and inter-relationships of organisms, including humans, other animals and plants - covering different levels of biological organisation, from molecules to communities of organisms.
The Department is made up of 36 academics who undertake research and teaching across a wide range of the biological and biomedical sciences. This group is supported by course managers, course-team assistants and secretarial staff, post-doctoral researchers, and technical staff.
