The Science Faculty's undergraduate curriculum is organised according to key discipline groupings, providing a wide choice of study pathways to degree level qualification.

Natural Sciences BSc degree (Q64) provides a range of opportunities for students who wish to study science at the OU.



You can keep your study broad or you can specialise in your preferred field of science by following one of several subject-specific study pathways through the new degree. Your choice of specialism will be included in the name of your degree, for example, BSc (Honours) Natural Sciences (Chemistry). For example:

Environmental Sciences BSc degree (Q52) is an interdisciplinary degree combining aspects of sciences and social sciences to fully understand the environment and our relationship with it.

Health Sciences BSc degree (Q71) Explores health and disease from a multidisciplinary, evidence-based perspective.

Mathematics and Physics BSc degree (Q77) covers equal amounts of applied mathematics and science.

OpenPlus a unique partnership between The Open University and other leading science universities

The Open University also works collaboratively with 16 universities on the OpenPlus scheme. This involves students starting their studies part time at the OU and then on successful completion of their OU modules progressing to year two at one of the partner universities to complete their degree.

Endorsed by the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Institute of Physics, OpenPlus provides students with a high-quality teaching and learning experience from start to finish.
