Courses and Qualification

Our teaching is mostly on the Physics strand and the Astronomy and Planetary Science strand of the undergraduate Natural Sciences curriculum. We also make significant contributions to the Earth Science strand, to interdisciplinary modules such as Exploring science (S104) and Investigative and mathematical skills in science (S141), and to postgraduate modules. We are currently developing a Space Science Masters programme, based on new resources in the Open Science Laboratory with funding from HEFCE.

Our BSc (Hons) Natural Sciences degree includes a physics pathway, which is accredited by the Institute of Physics, and an astronomy and planetary science pathway.

Our modules are supported by module team staff and by a large group of part-time associate lecturer staff based around the UK and Ireland, some of whom are shown in the photograph above.
