PhD Studentships & Vacancies

We have a commitment to continually seeking new research opportunities in the areas of astronomy, physics, planetary and space sciences, and space instrumentation, so there is often the need to recruit new staff.

Every year we seek to appoint typically 10-15 postgraduate students to a range of PhD projects. The current projects for which studentships are available are listed under the heading to the right of the screen

In our research, specialists skills from across a wide range of areas of physics, astronomy, planetary and space sciences, and space instrumentation are needed - including geological, chemical, physical and engineering expertise - with varying degrees of practical and theoretical backgrounds.

Support staff are also critical to the success of SPS and while opportunities are relatively infrequent, they may be in areas of administration, secretarial, electrical and/or mechanical engineering, laboratory support etc.

Current staff vacancies are listed under the heading to the right of the screen.
