Congratulations to Tom George, inaugural winner of the Paul Lidgett Memorial Prize

Congratulations to Tom George, inaugural winner of the Paul Lidgett Memorial Prize for the most innovative and analytical OU undergraduate student in Physical Sciences. Tom received the award for his SXP390 project on “Techniques for the Implementation of a Universal Unitary Quantum Gate for Trapped Ion Qubits”.

 

Tom said “Although hard work at times, I have found the physics dissertation a very interesting and rewarding experience. Off the back of 5 years of study, receiving this award has been a much appreciated and very pleasant surprise. Thank you very much!”
