OU to the Moon and back – Award nomination

The Open University has been shortlisted for an award by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations for its STEM campaign to mark the anniversary of the 1969 Moon landings and the OU connection with this. The campaign last July featured the work, activities and comment of academics and PhD students working in the field of lunar-science research as well as other OU scientists from the School of Physical Sciences. The media and social media campaign helped to promote research beyond traditional STEM sector media and interest groups, to reach more general audiences. In order to reach a wider audience, it produced original news stories and content across various channels and sites, in ways that could hook not only traditional media, but engage and entertain in a way we know works well on social media. Getting on the shortlist is no mean feat, winners are announced on Tuesday June 2nd.
