Masters Courses

Our Masters level courses form part of a larger MSc programme offered by the Science Faculty. Course lengths are described in terms of points, with each point equating to about 10 hours of study. 180 points are required for an MSc degree. For further details see the MSc programme website.

MSc courses in physics are listed below - clicking on a title will take you to the full course description on the OU Courses & Qualifications website.

These courses can be used, in combination with other Masters level courses, to contribute to the award of the MSc in Science; alternatively students who pass all three of the courses listed above are eligible for the award of the MSc Medical Physics. Students who pass S809 and S819 can be awarded the Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Physics. We have plans to apply to the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) for accreditation of the of the MSc Medical Physics, however at this stage we cannot predict the outcome of that application.

For further details please contact either Msc-Science@open.ac.uk or e.m.parvin@open.ac.uk
