NanoSIMS Studies in Cosmochemistry and Planetary Geosciences
We seek a highly competent analyst to operate our NanoSIMS50L. This post is to contribute NanoSIMS high spatial resolution isotopic and elemental mapping and high precision isotopic analyses to a range of projects in cosmochemistry and planetary geosciences. You will undertake day-to-day operation of the NanoSIMS, establish the expertise to become the primary operator of the instrument, train others to use the instrument and help develop new protocols and projects and undertake research in projects in cosmochemistry and planetary sciences. You will be able to work within a team and collaboratively with others. You will possess a doctorate in an appropriate area of analytical science, and a practical understanding of ion optics. You will have experience of magnetic sector SIMS or large mass spectrometers, UHV systems and
in situ analyses of solid samples with high spatial resolution.
