Teaching Interests
I have been involved in production and presentation of a number of astronomy courses at the OU: S282 Astronomy: Course production team (2001-03), Course presentation team (2003-), Course team chair (2008-); SXR208 Observing The Universe: Course production team (2003-04); Course Presentation team (2004-6); S194 Introducing Astronomy: Course team chair (2005-07).
I have authored a range of course materials: course books, activities, observational projects, assessments etc and was joint editor and author of "An Introduction to the Sun and Stars", and co-author of "Observing The Universe, both co-published by Cambridge University Press. I regularly attend SXR208 astronomy residential schools both as course director and tutor.
Research Interests
My research focuses on physical studies of planetary surfaces and small solar system bodies (asteroids, comets, interplanetary dust and space debris) through analysis of spacecraft data, ground and space-based observations and computer modelling.
