WSO-UVS

The aim of the World Space Observatory-Ultraviolet (WSO-UV) mission is to study the Universe in the 115 - 310 nm ultraviolet (UV) wavelengths range, which is beyond the reach of ground-based instruments. WSO-UV is a major international collaboration with Russia playing the leading role.

A significant feature of the CCD camera sub-system is the ability to integrate for up to an hour and readout low signal levels with very low noise. The Centre for Electronic Imaging is studying the impact of radiation damage on the sensors and their ability to achieve these challenging requirements.
