The ICA instrument

The Ion Composition Analyser (ICA) is a 2 kg instrument designed to measure the velocity and mass distribution of ions in order to study the plasma environment of the comet and its interactions with dust and gas. The instrument is capable of distinguishing between protons, helium, oxygen, molecular ions and ion clusters.
