Crack codes and compete! Discover the mathematics behind cryptography with Open University academics Katie Chicot and Andrew Potter.

Ever wondered how Julius Caesar sent messages of military significance, or how prisoners of war communicated with each other?

Delve into the ancient science and art of cryptography with Open University mathematicians Katie Chicot and Andrew Potter. Put your mathematical skills and problem solving abilities to the test in this interactive session to break ancient and modern codes!

The event will take place using Zoom. A link will be provided by email by the event organiser. Suggested age suitability: 14+ years old. A simplified version of this event, suitable for children aged 12-13, will be run on Saturday 3 October.
