Join Voluntary Health Scotland and The Open University for this event exploring ageing, health and wellbeing.

Over the course of 2020, Voluntary Health Scotland and The Open University (OU) ran a series of joint online events exploring how to age well.

The series explored how important it is over our lifespan to maintain a well-balanced nutrition and hydration, as well as regular physical and social activity in the older age, also known as the ‘Five Pillars of Ageing Well’.

Dr Jitka VseteckovaThe talks were led by Dr Jitka Vseteckova (pictured right), a public health expert from the OU's Faculty of Wellbeing, Education and Language Studies.

This event will include a brief overview of topics covered over the course of the six talks and will include a discussion on the topic of ageing. It will explore questions such as what else do we need to consider when looking at how we age, and what other areas of ageing do we need to spotlight?

Book your free place on this Eventbrite page for the Ageing Well Virtual Talk. Once registered, Voluntary Health Scotland will send you the link for the online event and information on accessing the event.

There is a range of free learning about ageing well, on the OU's free learning site OpenLearn, including a video and short article by Dr Jitka Vseteckova, on How to age well while self-isolating.
