The Open University in Scotland is pleased to support this event as part of The OU 50th Anniversary Series at Edinburgh International Book Festival 2019. SOLD OUT

A radical poet, political visionary, popular reggae artist, and OU honorary graduate, Benjamin Zephaniah has travelled the world promoting peace, humanitarianism and animal welfare – concerns prominent in his writing too.

With new autobiography The Life and Rhymes of Benjamin Zephaniah, he tells the story of his life and the issues that propel his work. As he shares his tale with audiences today we ask: what drives this verse superstar now?

This event is now SOLD OUT. Please check for returns nearer the time on the Edinburgh International Book Festival website.

There are videos and articles by Benjamin Zephaniah on the OU's free learning site OpenLearn, such as the The Z Files interviews with notable black people in the fields of science, technology and engineering.

You can also watch a YouTube video by Benjamin Zephaniah, which he created to share what the OU means to him, in celebration of the OU's 50th anniversary.
