A New Vision for Land Use in Scotland: Ecosystems and Energy

One of the biggest virtual events focused on land use in Scotland is being held in Spring 2021, organised by the Scottish Ecological Design Association (SEDA), in conjunction with the James Hutton Institute. The OU is pleased to be supporting this series of conversations.  

Over the course of six weeks, around 50 speakers on all aspects of rural land use will engage in six 'conversations'. This series has been organised as a response to the climate emergency and the Covid-19 pandemic.

The conversation on Monday 15 March (Conversation 3) will focus on promoting biodiversity: the role of natural resources and renewable energy.  

Creative Writing tutors from the OU in Scotland will share their writing at each conversation, to stimulate fresh ways of thinking; this conversation will include a live poem by poet and OU tutor Sophie Cooke.
