As part of the Edinburgh International Book Festival series of This Women Can, The Open University is sponsoring the event, In Praise of Nasty Women, featuring three writers, Nadine Aisha Jassat, Joelle Owusu and Laura Waddell, who contributed to book entitled, Nasty Women. This is a collection of essays, interviews and accounts on what it is to be a woman in the 21st century.
One of the most talked-about publishing projects of the year so far, Nasty Women is a book of essays published by 404 Ink. In this event, three of the contributors discuss their work and ideas. Nadine Aisha Jassat is a writer and a consultant in the field of gender-based violence; Joelle Owusu is a writer whose diary Otherness was published in 2016; and Laura Waddell is a publishing professional and the author of a series of articles in the Independent and elsewhere.
There is a range of free online learning about creative writing and society on the Open University's free learning site OpenLearn.
