Join our free public event to explore the making of the BBC/OU co-produced A Perfect Planet series - which was narrated by OU honorary graduate Sir David Attenborough - and the vital role of the Open University’s academic consultants.

This event is open to everyone and will be hosted by Open University Science Media fellow Dr Janet Sumner. Janet will be joined by OU academics who have been involved in the series and by the BBC producer.

Together they will take an in depth look at what goes into making programmes that not only capture stunning landscapes, natural events and astonishing animal and plant behaviour, but are also packed with fascinating science and cutting-edge research.

Our panel will include:

  • Professor Hazel Rymer, environmental volcanologist
  • Professor Stephen Lewis, expert on Mars and Martian weather and also global Earth weather systems
  • Professor Mark Brandon MBE, Polar scientist, who was heavily involved in the Frozen planet series
  • Huw Cordey, BBC series producer
