Reimagining civic society. A new paradigm for Scotland

Tough times create challenges, but also present opportunities. They shed light on what we do, how we do it, and who we do it with – forcing us to think about the ways we do business.

Challenging times remind us that by working together, business leaders of all sectors can shape our public space in to something that grows our communities – and those within them, including our staff and our customers – in to a strong and dynamic civic society.

Drawing on academic insights from the work of the Open University, the leading provider of part- time distance education in Scotland, as well as the experience of both TSB Bank and Cyrenians, a charity and social enterprise who support people excluded from family, home, work or community - this highly innovative seminar will explore how we can build long term organisational relationships that nurture development and purpose.

This event, co-produced by the partners, will explore the idea of how partnerships between business and third sector organisations can be models for civic leadership, not only through our actions, but through aligning the values upon which the partnership is based, and the impact it has on how we are formed as communities and what we view as valuable as a society.

This is an event open to all, but is ideally suited for those who are change agents in the third or business sector. We are very keen to attract a diverse audience from small through to larger organisations. We hope that you will be able to join us on the 10th October to begin the conversation.

This event is likely to be very popular, and you are encouraged to book your place without delay. You can book tickets here.
