Apply now for your part-time fee grant

If you live in Scotland and you have an individual income of £25,000 per year or less, you may be eligible for a part-time fee grant for undergraduate study.

For undergraduate modules starting in February 2018, the final date to apply for your fee grant without paying the fees yourself first, is 4 January 2018, and we need to receive all your paperwork and fee grant application by that date at the latest. This is seven days before the final published date to enrol on a course. (For postgraduate study there are tuition fee loans available).

You can find out more about the grant, and if you are eligible, from the Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS).

Once you have checked your eligibility with SAAS and registered for your preferred course with The Open University, these are your next steps:

Get your forms ready

•    Download and complete a paper copy of the SAAS application form from their website. The application forms are available now. Call the SAAS helpline on 0300 300 3137 if you need help with the form.
•    You'll also need your income or benefit evidence.
•    Print out your OU registration agreement from your StudentHome page and sign it.

Confirm your place

Once you have completed your SAAS form and printed your OU registration agreement, you will need to post all of these together, with your income/benefit evidence, to us at:
Student Recruitment Team, The Open University in Scotland, 10 Drumsheugh Gardens, Edinburgh, EH3 7QJ

We will then endorse your SAAS application, send all your forms and documents on to SAAS for processing, and register you on your module. SAAS will take up to 28 days to assess your application and they will send you an award letter.

There is no need to send this to us as we will be notified of the outcome of your application directly by SAAS.

Start studying!

Once your enrolment is complete we'll send you the information you need to start studying. While you’re waiting for the course to begin, why not have a look at the induction resources?

If you have any questions or concerns, please phone us on 0300 303 5303 – and good luck with your study!
