Gender-based violence

Psychological, emotional, physical and sexual abuse can take many forms.

One in four female students at universities across the UK experience unwanted sexual attention during their studies. We want to encourage students, and staff, to make a disclosure if they experience gender-based violence, and to feel confident that they will be supported.

Students who need support should contact their student support team via StudentHome

Staff who need support should contact People Services.

Students and staff can also visit the Universities Scotland End GBV website which holds contact details for external sources of support.

Always call 999 if you are in danger or in an emergency.
